SO Kwadraat works with tech pre-starters, alone or in teams, so that more technology companies get launched and each one launches with the best chance it can have. The coaching is free and it is shaped around the person, not delivered as a course.
Every coach has founded and grown a technology company. That is the difference the organisation trades on: advice from someone who has been through it, with nothing to sell you at the end of it. They have been doing this since 2005, and a long list of Belgian technology companies started here, DataCamp and Collibra among them.

Why we fund them
The months before a company exists.
Belgian research produces more good ideas than it produces companies, and the gap is not talent. It is the stretch between a promising result and a business that can stand on its own. SO Kwadraat sits exactly there, which is why Pulse funds the work as a whole.
From 2026 to 2028 the support has three jobs: a stronger pipeline of spin-offs, with more of them getting in and more of them getting out; a community that teaches itself and pays it forward, so that coaching capacity grows without simply hiring more coaches; and a steadier organisation, on income from more than one source. Beyond that, clearer and more scalable spin-off agreements with the universities, which is the part that changes the system rather than one company.
